A Love Letter to Boule Pétanque

Boulebar is the dream of a perfect evening in a park somewhere in France. The dream of endless summer, cold drinks, and pétanque under the plane trees. Of friendly rivalry and laughter. Of togetherness and a glass of Pastis.

OUR JOURNEY

It all began in 1991 with the boule club Grönbrallan - a group of friends who didn’t just fall in love with the French national sport, but also completely lost their minds over it. We didn’t just play pétanque every chance we got. We gathered all our friends, threw parties and tournaments, and created epic memories that only grew better with each retelling (with a bit of added drama, of course).

Our pilgrimage took us to the village of Rians in Provence, where the soul of boules lived in every grain of gravel and the scent of pastis hung thick in the air.

Back home in Stockholm, we realised one thing: we needed a home. A place where the game of pétanque and the French joy of life could bloom - even when it was too cold to take off your mittens.

And voilà - Boulebar was born! Our very own indoor French park.

Today, we’ve spread our love for boules and French charm to 13 locations across 6 cities in 3 countries - but at heart, we’re still the same Grönbrallan.

Our DNA is infused with the dream of endless summer, cold drinks, and pétanque under the plane trees. With friendly competitions and plenty of laughter.
With togetherness - and a glass of Pastis.
